Jamaica
Plain Animal Clinic, LLC is owned and operated by Dr. Amy Johnson.
Our talented staff offers friendly, gentle, quality care. We hope to enhance
the well-being not only of companion animals but also, of the people who
care for them.
Dr. Amy Johnson
BS in Animal Science, Cornell University
DVM, North Carolina State University
Dr. Johnson has been a veterinarian since 1998 and a Jamaica Plain resident
since 2002. Prior to opening JP Animal Clinic, she worked in both private
practice and for animal welfare organizations in Massachusetts and New
York. She has special interests in preventative medicine, pain management,
the human-animal bond and companion animal overpopulation. Dr. Johnson
shares her home with two dogs and two cats, adopted from shelters, that
teach and inspire her every day.
Emily
Auld
Certified Veterinary Technician
Emily has a BA in Psychobiology and after working in the Oil Trading Business
for two and a half years, decided to go back to school to become a Certified
Veterinary Technician (CVT). She has significant interest in educating
clients on the general healthcare of their pets, as well as puppy and
kitten care. Emily lives in JP and loves the community. With her Beagle,
Pluto, she frequently runs into clients and pet lovers on the street.
Emily’s cat, Gemini, teaches her a lot about feline behavior —
and her sassiness keeps Pluto in line!
Alana
Johnstone
Receptionist, Veterinary Assistant
Alana is a JP resident originally from Rochester, NY. Alana studied Human
Services and was headed into Social Work. However, she realized she wanted
to work with animals after becoming a dog mom to 8 year-old Abby. She
loves connecting with the people and pets of this wonderful community.
Lauren
Mrozowski
Technician
Lauren has been knee deep in animals from a young age. After training
horses in her native California, she found herself running a horse, farm
animal, and Pit Bull Rescue in Colorado for five years. After relocating
to Boston, she began working as a Veterinary Technician and is fortunate
enough to be owned by four dogs and two cats who share their house with
her.
Shannon
Murphy-Miller
Technician
Starting with horses as a teen, Shannon has worked in animal care for
10+ years. She became a barn manager in Weston, MA, an Equine Vet Assistant
in RI, and then a critical care nurse for 2 years at Angell Animal Medical
Center. She especially enjoys helping pets and their owners in coping
with diabetes. Currently enrolled in an Associates program in Veterinary
Technology, her interests include dental prophy and radiology. Her ~3
year-old German Shepherd, Petey, and cats, 10 year-old Otis (found in
a ceiling in Roxbury), 5 year-old Willie and 3 year-old Maceo, were adopted
from Rescue and Shelter organizations. Shannon spent most of her life
in JP but moved recently and misses it. She is so happy to work here. |
